Nursing Track
We have developed a special track for nursing students with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences to ensure our Nursing students stay on track to graduate, complete their course work successfully, and fulfill their ROTC responsibilities.
Our aim is to ensure that there are no interruptions and conflicts between ROTC duties and clinical classes. We also provide our nursing Cadets with mentoring resources to help them navigate their college years.
There are many advantages to becoming an Army Nurse, which — of course — include the opportunity to serve our Nation, plus leading amazing soldiers, caring for our soldiers and their families, traveling all over the world, getting top-notch experience, and so much more.
If you don’t want to do it full-time, you can chose to join the Army Reserves or National Guard, which lets you work at a hospital in your community and also participate in training as a nurse one weekend a month and two weeks during the year.
The main difference between a regular Cadet and a Nursing Cadet is that Nursing Cadets' ROTC curriculum is individually tailored around the UL Lafayette Nursing School Curriculum. Most Nurse Cadets attend Cadet Basic Camp during the summer between his/her sophomore and junior years. Nursing Scholarships are also available.
